New York, USA
While living in Chicago, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
constructed the Seagram Building, New York. This building was
consequently constructed by a grid of columns that consits of steal
beams coated with concrete and covered by bronze. One of the
principles of the International Style was to bring the structure of an
building to the front. By installing an non-bearing curtain wall with vertical I-Beams made of
bronze, Mies shows the construction principles of this
building.
